Remove EXIF Metadata

Strip supported EXIF metadata (camera details, GPS location, timestamps) without altering image pixels.

Lossless metadata edit

This tool removes Exif APP1 segments only and copies the JPEG scan bytes without re-encoding. XMP, ICC and other non-Exif segments are preserved, so this does not remove every kind of metadata. JPEGs with non-normal Exif orientation are safely rejected to avoid changing how the image appears.

How this tool works

Losslessly strips APP1 EXIF markers (GPS coordinates, camera model, date/time) from JPEG photos without recompressing pixel bytes.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1Upload a JPEG photo containing metadata.
  2. 2Click Remove EXIF to inspect and strip the APP1 segment.
  3. 3Download the cleaned JPEG.

Technical limitations & boundaries

  • •Only removes APP1 EXIF headers. XMP and ICC color profiles are preserved.
  • •Photos with non-standard orientation flags are rejected to avoid inadvertent image rotation without re-encoding.
